Mahila development centeraims at empowerment of resource less women and children through awareness generation programs, leadership development and livelihood and income generation programs by forming self-sustainable groups & rehabilitation of commercial sex workers and their children.

About
Mahila development centre is a community-based initiative of women in prostitution in the chatarbhuj asthan red light area of muzaffarpur from 1990. Some women in prostitution, who had worked with mr. Paramhans prasad singh (a sarvodayee activist), decided to start this organization. Their aim was to lead the end of their own exploitation and prevent their sisters from being exploited through sex trafficking.
